Jules Bianchi’s funeral will be held on Tuesday 21 July at 9am BST in his hometown of Nice, south of France, a tweet sent out from his official Twitter account has confirmed.
The 25-year-old died on Friday night as a result of the severe head injuries he had suffered when hitting a recovery vehicle in wet conditions during last year’s Japanese Grand Prix.
Bianchi’s untimely death has left a huge void in the entire motorsport community, with tributes pouring in from across all racing categories. His all too short F1 career spans 34 races for Marussia and a best result of ninth secured during the 2014 Monaco Grand Prix.
Bianchi’s funeral will be held at Sainte-Réparate Cathedral in the old Nice.
