Provisional Brazilian GP grid - with penalties

Mercedes drivers Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton will be bookends when the Brazilian Grand Prix gets underway this afternoon.

Bottas achieved his third career pole on Saturday, but a surprise crash in Q1 put Hamilton out on the spot.

Given the 2017 world champion's dead last position on the grid, Mercedes have decided to fit the Briton's car with a new ICE, MGU-H and turbocharger. The changes entailed breaking 'Parc Fermé' rules which in turn means Hamilton will launch his race from the pitlane.

Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo and Toro Rossos's Brendon Hartley both drop ten spots on the grid following engine element changes, while Pierre Gasly shall be demoted 25 places after a fresh power unit was installed in his STR12.

A gearbox issue and a subsequent replacement will also force Williams Lance Stroll to line up P17 on the grid, five spots behind where he qualified.

Barring any last-minute changes, a frequent occurrence lately, here is the starting for the 2017 Brazilian Grand Prix.
