Ron Dennis treats McLaren staff to 'Cirque du Soleil' extravaganza!

Ron Dennis concluded the final chapter of his life at McLaren with a class act, inviting the company's staff and friends to an evening at London's Royal Albert Hall.

The former McLaren boss, who spent over three decades at the helm of the Woking-based outfit and oversaw the manufacturer's successful foray into the production car world, felt compelled to show his gratitude towards the company's staff.

Dennis generously invited 3,000 McLaren employees - at an estimated cost of £350,000 - to enjoy an evening at the Royal Albert Hall where they were treated to a performance of Cirque du Soleil's latest extravaganza, OVO.

While former McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton did not attend the glitzy event, 13-time Grand Prix winner David Coulthard was present as well former F1 supremo Bernie Ecclstone.

During the evening, Dennis delivered an emotional farewell address while retaining his sense of humour as he joked about his well-known obsession with order.

"You can imagine how much I am struggling with this confetti," he said as he gazed at the paper-littered stage, generating a roar of laughter.
