Self-righteous Formula E to bring back grid girls!

A week after welcoming Formula 1 to the 21st century following its grid girl ban, Formula E says it will continue to put girls on the grid at certain venues this season!

Formula 1's controversial decision sparked a lively debate between progressive minds and traditionalists, but FE CEO Alejandro Agag ultimately applauded F1 for conforming to a practice which the all-electric series had already initiated last year.

While FE brought in kids for last season's final round in Montreal, and again at Marrakesh and Santiago, a female presence adorned the grid in Hong Kong in December.

In a curious case of "do what I say, not what I do", Agag says FE will actually alternate in the future between kids and girls, feeling the latter should remain part of motorsport.

"For me, it's not the most relevant issue today," Agag told Motorsport.com.

"It should be a non-issue. Sometimes we use kids, sometimes we should use grid girls.

"They haven't done anything bad, it's part of the visual tradition of motorsport. I am not an enemy of the concept of grid girls at all.

"Formula E will have grid girls. Maybe not in every race, but I think they are part of the tradition of motorsport."

Perhaps the burgeoning series will also occasionally revert to combustion engines at some point in the future...
