Lance Stroll will quite logically remain with Williams for the remainder of the 2018 season, but the Canadian is already looking forward to opening a new chapter in his career next year.
Following Force India's takeover by a consortium of investors led by Lawrence Stroll, it was expected the 19-year-old would move from Williams to his father's team in the closing stages of the current season in order to get a head start on 2019.
But contractual demands associated with both teams have removed that possibility, with both Stroll and Esteban Ocon remaining with their respective employers.
"There are a lot of politics behind the scenes," Stroll told Le Journal de Montreal in Austin.
"It's very difficult to terminate during the season. Changing teams was tempting but in the end it was better to stick to the agreement," he added.
While his move to Force India has yet to be officially announced, the young charger obviously knows where he'll be racing in 2019.
"We have to turn the page," he said. "I look forward to embarking on a new chapter of my career next year.
"I support my father in all his endeavours. He will bring fresh blood to the organisation," added Stroll.
