Tatiana Calderon will graduate this season to the FIA Formula 2 Championship, becoming the first woman to race in the junior series' recent era.

The 25-year-old Colombian - who is also a development driver in F1 for Alfa Romeo/Sauber - completes the BWT Arden line-up that will also include 2018 GP3 champion Anthoine Hubert.

"I’m very excited to compete in the FIA F2 Championship with Team BWT Arden in technical partnership with HWA," commented Calderon who competed with Arden in GP3 in 2016.

"It is a new challenge in my career and a step closer to my ultimate goal: Formula 1. I’m sure we will achieve great things together. I can’t wait for testing to start next week!"

Calderon enjoyed her first taste of F2 last year at the series' post-season test in Abu Dhabi where she ran with the Charouz Racing System team.

"We are delighted to welcome Tatiana back into the Arden fold," said Garry Horner who co-founded Arden with his son, Red Bull Racing team boss Christian Horner.

"Her recent testing results in Formula 2 have been very impressive and I am certain she will be a strong teammate alongside Anthoine."

Phillip van Osten

Motor racing was a backdrop from the outset in Phillip van Osten's life. Born in Southern California, Phillip grew up with the sights and sounds of fast cars thanks to his father, Dick van Osten, an editor and writer for Auto Speed and Sport and Motor Trend. Phillip's passion for racing grew even more when his family moved to Europe and he became acquainted with the extraordinary world of Grand Prix racing. He was an early contributor to the monthly French F1i Magazine, often providing a historic or business perspective on Formula 1's affairs. In 2012, he co-authored along with fellow journalist Pierre Van Vliet the English-language adaptation of a limited edition book devoted to the great Belgian driver Jacky Ickx. He also authored "The American Legacy in Formula 1", a book which recounts the trials and tribulations of American drivers in Grand Prix racing. Phillip is also a commentator for Belgian broadcaster Be.TV for the US Indycar series.
