French GP2 driver Pierre Gasly will remain a member of the Red Bull Junior Team in 2016, although his exact role has yet to be decided.
Gasly, who concluded his GP season with four podium finishes and 8th place in the championship, was nominated back in September as Red Bull Racing's reserve driver.
"I will stay with Red Bull," Gasly told Motorsport.com. "But we are now trying to find a solution to continue in GP2."
"I don't know my exact role, at the moment. Officially, my F1 reserve role is over, for next year I need to see with Helmut Marko."
Despite his limited experience with the team, Gasly was thankful for the opportunity which he labeled as hugely beneficial.
"I am doing all the briefings, debriefings, I have the radio so I can hear all the conversation as to what the drivers say to their engineers and, for me, I can get involved and see how it goes.
"Of course, it is a good experience, it is frustrating as I am not driving as I see all the drivers racing and I’ll like to be with them.
"But at the moment I am going with the programme and making the most out of it to be ready for the future."
In 2016, Gasly will be targeting the GP2 title following a year marked by inconsistent performances and some bad luck. The Frenchman will require additional sponsorship to complement his Red Bull backing however, and has yet to chose a team should he decide not to continue with the Dams outfit.
"I am just trying to find a solution because I am struggling a bit, we are not sure about the budget, I am still looking for sponsors.
"Red Bull don’t pay for everything. Next year they won’t be able to pay for everything and so I need to find sponsors and it's quite difficult."
