Sergio Perez would like nothing more than to move up the grid with Force India, but if a more competitive drive came along he would not hesitate to take it should it provide an opportunity to further his career.

Although he may be considered a seasoned Formula 1 driver with five seasons under his belt, the Mexican is just 25 years old and feels there is still much to be accomplished in Grand Prix racing.

Perez enjoyed his best season to date in 2015 with Force India and while the team's margin of progress remains indisputable, he would not rule out a switch if a better opportunity for success came along.

"I am still young, I have hopefully a long career ahead of me, and I'm facing a very important year in my career that hopefully can put me in a great position for the future," he told Motorsport.

"It will be great if we can become a top team and suddenly we are fighting for world championships and for victories - then it will be a great place to stay.

"It] would be fantastic to move up the grid together, but if another opportunity comes in the future, it wouldn't be that bad as well."

Phillip van Osten

Motor racing was a backdrop from the outset in Phillip van Osten's life. Born in Southern California, Phillip grew up with the sights and sounds of fast cars thanks to his father, Dick van Osten, an editor and writer for Auto Speed and Sport and Motor Trend. Phillip's passion for racing grew even more when his family moved to Europe and he became acquainted with the extraordinary world of Grand Prix racing. He was an early contributor to the monthly French F1i Magazine, often providing a historic or business perspective on Formula 1's affairs. In 2012, he co-authored along with fellow journalist Pierre Van Vliet the English-language adaptation of a limited edition book devoted to the great Belgian driver Jacky Ickx. He also authored "The American Legacy in Formula 1", a book which recounts the trials and tribulations of American drivers in Grand Prix racing. Phillip is also a commentator for Belgian broadcaster Be.TV for the US Indycar series.
