Fans of Racing Point's signature marshmallow pink livery are bracing for a color change next season, after Lance Stroll revealed that the team is likely to be draped in British racing green in 2021.
Racing Point will re-brand at the end of the year and change its name to Aston Martin Racing following the Silverstone-based outfit's tie-up with the prestigious sports car manufacturer.
As British racing green is Aston's historic color, a change of complexion for Racing Point's cars is in the works according to Stroll.
"I believe it will be British racing green, so it’ll be pretty good," commented the Canadian in Sochi.
Stroll will receive a new chassis this weekend in Russia after his crash at Mugello left his car the worse for wear. The 21-year-old also took a beating on the impact but is now fit and well.
"My calf was a little bit sore the next day because I put so much pressure into the brake pedal. But that was it," he said.
"The cars now are so safe it’s really thanks to the FIA and Formula 1 for over the years implementing the safety regulations that I walked away from that crash without any injuries.
"It’s great to see how safe the cars have become over the years.
"At the end of the day it was just a shame that we had such a big point score slip away from us."
Unfortunately, the crash has not allowed Racing Point to prepare a second RP20 upgrade package in time for this weekend's race. As he sits ahead of teammate Sergio Perez in the drivers' standings, Stroll has once again been given preference for the package.
