VIDEO: Toro Rosso practice pit stops in new factory

Who says you need a pit lane to hone your pit stop craft? Toro Rosso has released a video of its crew practicing in their new factory in Faenza ahead of pre-season testing.

Team mechanics kick start their warm up with a collective stretching routine before getting into the nuts and bolts of the procedure. Since refueling was banned in 2009, pit stop times have tumbled dramatically, with sub-two second stops no longer uncharted territory.

This has increased pressure on teams to deliver flawless procedures – just ask Williams about fitting two different tyre compounds on Valtterri Bottas’ car in Belgium last year.

Practice makes perfect.
