Valtteri Bottas concluded his first day of running with Williams with just a handful of laps under his belt as rain and changeable conditions upset both of Friday's sessions.
Bottas totalled just 8 laps, and hardly did any running at all in FP2, which implies some hard work ahead for the entire field in tomorrow's last free practice session.
"There was not much to learn today, which is a shame, but it was the same for everyone," Bottas said.
" We’re just waiting for tomorrow, to see how the car is and what we can do with it. Tomorrow's FP3 is going to be very important, so hopefully the track will be dry.
"We need to have a look at what we can do to maximise our track time, in order to learn as much as possible."
Obviously, tomorrow's workload will require prioritization on the part of Williams, which Bottas fully acknowledged.
"We’re going to sit down very soon and see what’s the best plan for FP3. Certainly it’s going to be an important session and we need to get an idea of how the car is handling in low fuel.
"We’ll need to check the tyre wear with high fuel loads, so we’ll make up a plan. We could check the car works, basically, but we also had some new aerodynamic bits in the car, so we collected some aero data.
"Other than that, not much. It’s frustrating, but it was the same thing for everybody."
