Carmen Jorda’s promotion to the role of development driver for Lotus has been met with a strong reaction from GP3 drivers.

Lotus announced on Thursday afternoon that Jorda would join the team as development driver, attending a number of races with a view to driving the E23 at some stage this season.

Jorda has most recently raced in GP3 over the past three seasons, with 44 starts yielding a best result of 14th place. Her appointment as part of an F1 team - with Lotus saying she will help develop its 2015 car - has led to a strong reaction from two of her former GP3 competitors on social media.
