Massa’s son beats Ricciardo in fun kart race

Felipa Massa’s son Felipinho has defeated Red Bull F1 ace Daniel Ricciardo in a ‘Crazy Kart Race’ held at the Williams driver’s Monaco apartment.

The Australian responded to the challenge issued by Felipinho over social media, with the pair meeting on Friday afternoon to battle it out on a makeshift track laid out around deck chairs on Massa’s balcony.

Felipinho beat Ricciardo off the line to take an early lead he would never relinquish, holding off the three-time grand prix winner for 10 laps to claim victory on home soil.

Ricciardo was very gracious in defeat as he accompanied the Brazilian winner on the podium and enjoyed post-race celebrations with him.

The full video of the race can be found below, with Felipe Massa providing colourful live commentary in both English and Portuguese.
