Haas and Williams reportedly vying for BWT sponsorship

There might well be a pair of pink cars on F1's grid after all this season, with Haas and Williams both reportedly courting former Racing Point sponsor BWT.

The Austrian water treatment systems company concluded its four-year partnership with Lawrence Stroll's team at the end of last year in the wake of Racing Point's decision to rebrand itself as Aston Martin F1 and drape its car in the legendary manufacturer's historic British racing green.

But just under a month before the start of pre-season testing in Bahrain, talks are apparently underway between BWT and Haas involving a transfer of the company's F1 budget and its striking pink glow according to a report from Motorsport.com.

Former F1 driver Ralf Schumacher, the uncle of Haas rookie Mick Schumacher and whose son david raced in the past under BWT's colors, cryptically teased a possible tie-up between the US outfit and Austrian company in a recent comment to German publication Express.

"A sponsor has just become available," said Schumacher. "Not that this particular colour comes into play with Mick."

However, Williams, which had its ear to the ground, has allegedly also touched base with BWT to discuss adding a generous splash of pink to its traditional blue and white corporate colors.

But the Grove-based outfit is mum on the subject, for now.

"Williams Racing is shaping an exciting new brand direction and commercial strategy and this is resulting in significant interest as we begin a new era for the team," a Williams spokesperson said, quoted by Motorsport.com.

"By their nature these discussions are confidential so as a policy, we do not comment on any specifics or speculation."

Haas or Williams, take your pink BWT!
