Young Geoff Brabham did not seem too impressed while sitting on his father’s lap as the pair toured the Oulton Park circuit to celebrate victory at the 1967 Gold Cup. Already a three-time Formula One world champion, Jack Brabham had won his final title a few months earlier at the wheel of a car bearing his name – the Brabham-Repco BT20 – which still remains a unique achievement in the sport to date. Geoff would later embrace a very successful racing career in the United States, starring in Can-Am, IndyCar and IMSA. The apple does not fall far from the tree…
