Daniel Ricciardo is sporting a special helmet design this weekend for the United States Grand Prix, themed around famous American daredevil stunt rider Evel Knievel. It's rather fabulous, and definitely worth checking out.
Knievel was famous in the 70s for his ramp-to-ramp motorcycle jumps, including a 1974 attempt to leap over Snake River Canyon on a steam-powered rocket bike while wearing his trademark star-spangled riding leathers.
Knievel was injured in a jump over the fountains in front of Ceasars Palace Hotel-Casino in Las Vegas after which he adopted the catchphrase 'Color me lucky', which has been incorporated on Ricciardo's stylish lid design.
Knievel died of pulmonary disease in 2007, aged 69.
