Hungarian Grand Prix - Quotes of the weekend

Question to the drivers regarding the 21 race calendar next year, so it looks like it’s ever increasing. How difficult is it to adapt to your already busy schedules and do you think there is actually some kind of limit of number of races per year which is feasible for you as Formula One drivers?

Grosjean: “I think the limit would be the divorce!”

Father-of-two Romain Grosjean believes the ever-expanding calendar will reach an obvious breaking point for him

Engineer: “Ericsson. In theory he should let you through.”

Kvyat: “Yeah, but he’s not a very nice guy.”

Daniil Kvyat was unhappy with being held up during Friday practice…

“There must be a reason why the visa was denied. I don’t know the background. To be honest, I don’t care about this. So we go there, we race there and that’s it. It’s your problem how you get the visa.”

Franz Tost shows complete ignorance of the situation in Azerbaijan when questioned about freedom of the press ahead of next year’s race in Baku

“It would make our press conferences a lot shorter anyway, so maybe not a bad thing!”

Christian Horner has a different take on why it would be positive if journalists can’t get a visa for Azerbaijan

“Shit, I don’t know what happened. I think 2010 I was very close to win and did a stupid mistake and then we had this very ugly – I’m not saying the brand – dog with four legs, or five legs, or six, I don’t even know – then they went back to the porcelain one, now they’ve gone back to something else! Obviously it’s great to win but not entirely perfect.”

Sebastian Vettel’s day is tarnished by not getting the traditional porcelain trophy for winning the Hungarian Grand Prix - his first victory in Budapest

DK: “Well, yeah, it’s been a story for a while I guess. It’s only five letters but so challenging to say.”

SV: “How do you actually say it?”

DK: “I already forgot how to say it right to be honest myself!”

Vettel doesn’t get much help from Kvyat when trying to learn how to pronounce the Russian’s surname

“I think in English they call it a crappy day in the office!”

At least Toto Wolff has a sense of humour about Mercedes’ poor race after finishing sixth and eighth

“I think I’ve had some problems and bad races and this is just one more.”

A typically understated response from Kimi Raikkonen after dropping out of second place due to reliability issues
