Like Palmer, Nasr was much happier with the handling of his car having been given a new Sauber chassis for this weekend. It led to him out qualifying Ericsson but unfortunately for the Brazilian it did not translate into a better race result. A slow puncture on his front left tyre forced Nasr to stop early to switch to the soft compound, which he successfully made last for 41 laps but which hurt his overall race pace.
