McLaren has reverted to its old nose for the Italian Grand Prix, while both drivers will receive power unit penalties.

Having started the season with a long nose similar to the one currently used by Ferrari, McLaren changed to a short nose as part of a major aerodynamic update at the Austrian Grand Prix. However, as part of its low downforce package McLaren is reverting to the old nose at Monza.

Having been hit with power unit penalties adding up to a combined 105 places on the grid in Belgium, McLaren is again introducing new components this weekend which will see Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button penalised.

Both drivers will receive a new internal combustion engine (ICE), which is the ninth ICE for each driver. However, because Alonso has yet to use a ninth of any component, he will be hit with a grid penalty of ten places.

For Button, the ICE is the third time he has used the ninth of a component having had a new turbocharger and MGU-H at Spa-Francorchamps, meaning he will be hit with a five-place penalty.
