Renault releases ‘Hear Us Coming’ promo clip

Renault has released its first promotional video clip ahead of its comeback as a fully-fledged Formula One team in 2016.

The French manufacturer ended months of speculation last December when it finally completed its takeover of Lotus, buying a 90% stake in the cash-strapped Enstone outfit.

Company CEO Carlos Ghosn immediately warned that it would take three years to return to winning ways, with senior management expecting the upcoming campaign to be a transitional season. Renault will entrust its new challenger to the hands of British rookie Jolyon Palmer and Pastor Maldonado, though the Venezuelan’s seat remains under threat due to concerns over his PDVSA sponsorship.

The French constructor will reveal further details about its F1 programme during a press conference slated for early February. Before that announcement, Renault has released the video below, where you can hear an English voiceover saying:

“You thought you had already seen it all? Heard it all? Can’t you hear us coming back? Can’t you hear our gears, the sound of our next records, the resonance of our achievements? In 2016, Renault re-enters Formula One as a team.”

Another, robot-like voiceover then adds “Hear Us Coming” as the #HearUsComing hashtag appears.

Along with its works outfit, Renault will carry on supplying Red Bull in 2016, though Milton Keynes’ power units will be branded TAG Heuer.
