The 2016 Mercedes power unit "looks a good step forward" from last year's offering, according to Force India's Andrew Green.
Mercedes has had the dominant power unit since the introduction of new regulations at the start of the 2014 season, winning 32 of the 38 races since the 1.6-litre V6 turbos replaced V8 engines.
With Force India confirming its 2016 car has passed the mandatory crash tests, the team is now focusing on preparing its car for pre-season testing where it will get to run the new Mercedes power unit in anger for the first time, and technical director Green is excited by the improvement he expects.
"It will be interesting to see what Mercedes have brought to the package," Green told F1i. "They keep delivering and this year’s package looks a good step forward. They’ve done us another stellar job and we’re looking forward to bolting that in the back."
Aside from the dominant works outfit, Mercedes will supply three teams in 2016 with Williams and Force India being joined by Manor as power unit customers.
