Ferrari has added Charles Leclerc to its driver academy as the Monegasque driver also takes on a role with Haas.

Leclerc impressed in Formula 3 last year, taking four victories as he finished fourth in the championship. With the 18-year-old moving up to GP3 with the ART team this year, Ferrari has confirmed he joins the Ferrari Driver Academy [FDA] as well as taking on F1 roles.

"He is also on the books with the Haas Formula 1 squad and, this year, Charles will also be a development driver for Scuderia Ferrari," the team announced.

Another new name joining the FDA is Giuliano Alesi, the son of former Ferrari grand prix winner Jean. Alesi is set to race for Trident in GP3 this year - against Leclerc - having enjoyed a solid debut season in the French F4 championship last year, finishing fourth overall.

Ferrari has also confirmed Antonio Fuoco and Guan Yu Zhou remain part of the FDA, with Fuoco also a development driver for the F1 team.
