Follow live coverage of Saturday morning's free practice session for the Spanish Grand Prix with F1i.

It's a bright and sunny day as we head back to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Barcelona for the all-important final practice session, the last chance the teams have to get their cars in optimal condition before the rigours of qualifying later today.

While Nico Rosberg was fastest of anyone on Friday, there are signs that today might not go entirely to plan for the Mercedes team. He was only a quarter of a second ahead of Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen, a much closer situation than we've been used to between the two teams of late.

Meanwhile Lewis Hamilton had a troubled day and could only manage third fastest, seven tenths back from his team mate. Not what he wants to reinvigorate his world championship campaign and thwart Rosberg's bid to win eight Grand Prix races - a feat that would break a current tie in the record books with Alberto Ascari and Michael Schumacher, and put himself just one behind all-time record holder Sebastian Vettel.

Having been top in the morning's FP1 session, Vettel could only manage fourth fastest in the afternoon after admitting that the team had struggled to get the car in the right window for track temperatures. He was still fast enough to see off Toro Rosso's Carlos Sainz and Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo.

The man who was team mate to Sainz in Russia and is now paired up with Ricciardo in Spain is Max Verstappen, who celebrated his arrival at Red Bull with the eighth fastest time in FP2. The man he swapped places with, Daniil Kvyat, was 15th fastest in Verstappen's old car - but don't count out the young Russian just yet.

Among those hoping for a better day on Saturday are Jolyon Palmer, whose Renault triggered an red flag in FP2 with an as-yet unexplained tyre blow-out on the main straight. Force India's Sergio Perez and Haas F1's Esteban Gutiérrez also lost time on Friday with technical troubles and will need to regroup in today's final practice session.

Lots to watch out for then, and you can rely on F1i to bring you all the news, analysis and insight from the 60-minute practice as it happens on F1i's live page, which has been upgraded for an even better user experience.
