Red Bull is growing in confidence as it fights with Ferrari and edges closer to Mercedes, according to team principal Christian Horner.

The last six races have seen Red Bull outscore Ferrari on four occasions, picking up 13 more points than the Scuderia over that period. Compared to Mercedes, Red Bull has lost 37 points to the championship leaders since Max Verstappen joined the team in Barcelona and Horner believes the recent form is boosting the team and helping it maximise its chances.

"Obviously we have got two very strong drivers in the cars and they are pushing each other hard, which is great to see and there is a confidence in the team that you can see is growing," Horner said.

"The car is improving. There are still areas that we can find time and performance, but we are actually in the race with Mercedes at certain circuits, which is great to see. And hopefully there is circuits coming up, like the next one, where we can sneak a bit closer still."

Asked where Red Bull is currently lacking compared to Ferrari, Horner replied: "Nowhere.

"I think we have got a very strong car and we have got strong drivers, the engine is improving and I don’t think there is anything really to fear."
