F1 in waiting mode over Liberty Media - Boullier

McLaren racing director Eric Boullier says the F1 community will be waiting to hear more in the coming months about Liberty Media's plans to develop Grand Prix racing.

Formula 1's new chairman, Chase Carey, visited the F1 paddock for the first time last weekend.

Carey made the rounds of the teams, flanked by CVC's Donald Mackenzie, and introduced himself to key figures from which the American executive generally received a warm reception.

But McLaren's Boullier believes it's still early days with regard to assessing the new owner of F1 as teams await details over Liberty's vision for the future of the sport.

"We don't know exactly what their plans are," Boullier underlined.

"They have just come here to introduce themselves and that is it so far. I guess there will be more and more discussions and developments in the future.

"I guess also there are just here to get a little bit of a taste of what Formula 1 is exactly from the inside, from the paddock and from the drivers. We will see later."

Honda's Yusuke Hasegawa echoed Boullier's opinion, but insisted that the Japanese manufacturer isn't expecting dramatic changes.

"I am not in a position to tell something about that, but also it is still not clear to us," Hasegawa said.

"But for Honda the stability is very important. That is the only thing I can say."
