Romain Grosjean (eighth, 4 points): 8.5/10

The wheel of fortune must stop turning; it chose the desert to make a full U-turn. Romain remained optimistic after a Saturday morning when nothing worked. The VF-17 was back on form in the afternoon to qualify on row five. Overtaken by Pérez under full course yellow (he had pitted just before the accident) the Frenchman disposed of Hülkenberg to take four points for the American squad. A fine pre-birthday present (it is today)!
