As in Shanghai, Nico’s qualifying lap was quite the demonstration with seventh place behind the top three teams. And also as in China, the Grand Prix showed that the Renault is not yet capable of the same pace over an hour and a half. Overtaken by Massa at the start, Hulk then fell behind Grosjean who came in for tyres much earlier at the end of his second stop, and he couldn’t reel back in the Haas. Nevertheless, the German scores the first two points of 2018 for the yellow and black, at the end of solid Sunday.
