Daniil Kvyat (ninth, 2 points) : 6/10

What a difference a day makes. On Saturday, Daniil was down in the dumps, at a loss to understand why his Toro Rosso was so off the pace with the slowest time in qualifying. With nothing to lose, the Russian and his engineer opted for an extremely early first stop. Smart move: he picked up several spots. Attacking from lights out to chequers, he survived a hard fought skirmish with Magnussen to double his season points tally. Now he has to sort out this qualifying mystery so that it does not repeat itself.
