The Haas F1 Team has announced its first car has passed the FIA crash tests ahead of pre-season testing.

Ahead of its debut F1 season, Haas took to Twitter to confirm it has passed the mandatory crash tests, a major milestone in a new car build. Haas - which has facilities in both Kannapolis in North Carolina and Banbury in the UK - has entered in to a close technical partnership with Ferrari ahead of its first season in F1, with the chassis being produced by Dallara.

Haas will have just two pre-season tests to run its car before the first race in Melbourne, down from three tests last year. Pre-season testing takes place at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya from February 22-25 and March 1-4.

The Australian Grand Prix takes place on March 20.
