GP2 drivers hit out at Carmen Jorda

Renault development driver Carmen Jorda has been on the receiving end of criticism from GP2 drivers this week.

Jorda was retained as part of the Renault driver set-up following its takeover of the Lotus team, where Sorensen was previously a test driver. The Danish driver claims Jorda was a full 12 seconds off his pace when both drove the Lotus simulator last year.

"She was 12 seconds slower than me in the simulator," Sorensen told Ekstra Bladet. "Still, she ran away with all the rewards.

"I have spent at least 60 days in the simulator in the past two years working on the development of the Formula 1 car, as Kevin Magnussen has done at McLaren. So I felt so violated that it finally became too much, so I just had to stop."

Jorda then responded on Twitter by saying: "12 seconds faster? I've been laughing at that for 12 hours!"

However, her response then drew further criticism from Richie Stanaway, who raced against Jorda in GP3 in 2014. "Stanaway responded to Jorda, saying: "If you didn't finish last in every GP3 race people would not make jokes. #simple"
