Verstappen and Nasr to start from pit lane

Both Max Verstappen and Felipe Nasr will start today's Monaco Grand Prix from the pit lane after incidents in qualifying.

Verstappen crashed at the Swimming Pool complex in Q1 and has had to change his survival cell due to the impact, which carries an automatic pit lane start. The Spanish Grand Prix winner will line up ahead of Nasr in the pits having set a lap time - albeit outside 107% - in the first part of qualifying.

Nasr suffered a spectacular power unit failure in the opening moments of Q1 on Saturday, and Sauber has opted to change the engine cooling ducts and panels for ones of different specification. With the team also making set-up changes - with Sunday having seen persistent rain all morning so far - Nasr will also start from the pits.

The pit lane starts result in no change to the grid order, with Verstappen and Nasr having previously been scheduled to line-up alongside each other on the back row of the grid.
