King to make second Manor FP1 appearance at Yas Marina

Jordan King will make his second Manor FP1 appearance during Friday practice for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

The GP2 driver took part in the opening practice session for the United States Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas last month as part of his development driver role, the first time he had driven during a grand prix weekend. With testing experience also under his belt for Manor this season, King will now take part in FP1 again in Abu Dhabi.

With Esteban Ocon leaving the team at the end of the season, sporting director Dave Ryan confirmed King will drive the Frenchman's car at the Yas Marina Circuit.

“We’re pleased to welcome Jordan back to the cockpit for his second planned FP1 session," Ryan said. "He’ll be taking over Esteban’s car on Friday morning and we have a busy programme of testing items lined up for him again.”

King will have to make a quick switch to his GP2 car following the session, with the Briton driving for Racing Engineering in the final round of the GP2 season where he currently sits fifth in the drivers' championship with two victories to his name.
