Always likely to struggle due to power unit penalties forcing him to start from the back of the grid, Kvyat was simply unable to match the performance of Ricciardo in race trim. Often at the back of a train of cars, negating DRS and making progress difficult, but he still managed to make it in to the top ten, though he will have expected a little more having started ahead of his team-mate.
