Esteban Ocon - 12th place - 8/10

Ocon had not had to race in the wet in F1 before Interlagos but excelled to keep Manor in the fight with Sauber until the very end. Manor was another team to make the decision to stay on full wets throughout, which promoted the Frenchman to eighth place after the second red flag period. With points on the line he responded excellently and kept Nasr in his sights throughout the final stint, running just a second behind the Sauber until the closing laps when the faster Alonso jumped him for tenth place, and he also dropped behind Bottas to finish three seconds adrift of Nasr at the flag.
