New Ferrari changes easy to identify - Vettel

A Ferrari pursues its quest to bridge the gap with arch-rival Mercedes in 2016, changes to the Scuderia's latest prancing horse will be easily recognisable when it emerges from its stable in the coming weeks, according to Sebastian Vettel.

While the German driver collected three wins in 2015 and the Italian outfit made inroads into Mercedes' dominance, the Scuderia still remained at a fair distance from the Silver Arrows at the end of last season.

By Vettel's own admittance, the title must be considered as Ferrari's ultimate ambition this season, with the four-time World Champion having invested personally considerable time and effort into the elaboration of the Scuderia's latest contender.

"The title has to be our aim," Vettel told Germany's Auto Bild Motorsport. Nevertheless, we must not forget that there was still a team ahead of us last year."

Regarding the new car, Vettel added:

"Basically, a few things will change and they will be identified fairly easily. For almost the entire time last year I was involved in the development of the 2016 car.

"I think we are on the right track."

He was an early contributor to the monthly French F1i Magazine, often providing a historic or business perspective on Formula 1's affairs. In 2012, he co-authored along with fellow journalist Pierre Van Vliet the English-language adaptation of a limited edition book devoted to the great Belgian driver Jacky Ickx. He also authored "The American Legacy in Formula 1", a book which recounts the trials and tribulations of American drivers in Grand Prix racing. Phillip is also a commentator for Belgian broadcaster Be.TV for the US Indycar series.
