Zak Brown has opted to take up a role with McLaren rather than with F1's new owners Liberty Media, according to reports.
Sky News - which broke news of Ron Dennis' appearance at the High Court and impending departure - reports Brown has informed Liberty Media he will be joining McLaren, turning down a role which would have seen him helping to run the sport itself.
The report claims Brown "has signed a deal to take a senior executive role" at McLaren, although says it is unclear what the exact title will be due to former McLaren Technology Group CEO and chairman Dennis being on gardening leave until his contract expires in January.
McLaren Technology Group confirmed after Dennis' departure that it "is now in the process of seeking a new Chief Executive Officer".
Brown has been linked with a number of roles in F1 since he left as Chief Executive of CSM Sport & Entertainment in September.
The BBC is also now reporting Brown will take on a role at McLaren, with chief F1 writer Andrew Benson claiming: "He was of particular interest to McLaren because of his success in finding sponsors for a number of teams in his former role at JMI."
