Former Ferrari F1 driver Jean Alesi admits to be baffled by Force India's current level of performance in Formula 1.

The Frenchman, who enjoyed a career in Grand Prix racing spanning  twelve years,  has praised the Force India for achieving, despite limited resources, two podium spots in the last three races, with Sergio Perez finishing third in Monaco and in last Sunday's European GP at Baku.

"Sergio Perez had a great race, and I believe he was in part motivated by the fact that he had damaged his car on Saturday morning," Alesi explained to French broadcaster Canal+.

"It's a mystery to me how Force India manages to achieve such good results. They are really working miracles.  And they are where they are despite their limited budget.

"It's great to see this because it really put the emphasis on the human aspect of Formula 1."

With eight Grand Prix to date and 59 points, Force India is 5th in the Constructors championship, behind Williams and in front of Toro Rosso.
