Valtteri Bottas and Carlos Sainz both received reprimands for incidents during Friday practice at the Hungarian Grand Prix.

The Williams driver was complaining about a problem with the rear of his car in FP2 and made a late decision to enter the pit lane, cutting across the kerb just before the start of the barrier. With a bollard in place which drivers must stay to the right of, Bottas had been on the left hand side and was handed a reprimand by the stewards. The penalty is the first reprimand for Bottas this season.

Carlos Sainz was found guilty of a similar infringement, although he did the opposite to Bottas. Having started to enter the pit lane, Sainz was penalised for then crossing the line to rejoin the track having already passed the bollard. The Spaniard was also given a reprimand, which is his second of the season.

Should a driver receive three reprimands in one season, they will be hit with an automatic ten-place grid penalty.
