In dry conditions, there was no doubt he’d take pole. But on Saturday's wet track he was slower than Räikkönen and acknowledged he wasn’t very confident. After getting past Kimi at the start, then making the most of the Mercedes pit stops, he made his soft tyres last. But a stubborn wheel nut slowed his stop for ultras and he came out behind Bottas. After the pass then contact with the Finn, Hamilton was just too far up the road.
