Netflix has announced that Season 6 of its popular Formula 1 docuseries ‘Drive to Survive’ will premiere on February 23, 2024.
The series’ release date coincides with the third and final day of pre-season testing in Bahrain. It will therefore serve as a lead-in to the 2024 Formula 1 season, which kicks off one week later at Sakhir.
Season 6 of “Drive to Survive” promises to be another action-packed installment, chronicling the highs and lows of the 2023 Formula 1 season.
The series will likely focus on Max Verstappen’s record-breaking championship run with Red Bull, Aston Martin and McLaren’s moments of brilliance, Mercedes’ quest to reclaim its dominant position, and Daniel Ricciardo’s return to AlphaTauri.

Since its debut in 2019, ‘Drive to Survive’ has played a pivotal role in increasing interest in Formula 1, particularly among a younger, more diverse demographic and in the United States.
Season 6 was produced once again by Box to Box Films, the same team that produced the previous five seasons. James Gay-Rees, who won an Academy Award for producing the documentary “Senna,” returned as Executive Producer, alongside Emmy-winning producer Paul Martin.
“We’ve all had the statistics about the changing, younger demographic, and it’s tough out there for anybody, for any big organisation, to hold its ground given the amount of choices that are out there for the consumer," Gay-Rees told Formula1.com.
“Bringing such a big new audience to a sport – which obviously was deserved, it just needed somebody to open it up – is massively satisfying.
“The fact that it wasn’t a fluke, the fact that it’s grown [with every season]… It’s a real honour and we love it. It’s a very difficult show to make, but we love the process, we love the world. Long may it continue!”
