Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton put their strategy skills to the test in a different arena on Thursday in Baku as they indulged in a game of chess with none other than Azerbaijani Grandmaster Teymur Rajabov.
The Ferrari duo quickly discovered that navigating 200mph corners might feel simple compared to predicting Rajabov’s next move. Still, the session was more than just fun – it was a reminder that chess, much like Formula 1, sharpens patience, foresight, and the ability to stay three steps ahead under pressure.
Adding a local touch, Rajabov gifted the Scuderia pair a beautifully woven carpet with a chess-inspired design – a checkmate-worthy keepsake!
