Kimi Raikkonen says his Ferrari is performing well despite a small issue during second practice for the Singapore Grand Prix.
The Finn finished FP2 with the second fastest time behind Red Bull's Daniil Kvyat but complained of front locking and understeer during his race run, while also not being happy with the traction from his car. However, Raikkonen says the overall performance is a strong platform to build on.
“Yeah we had a small issue but it should be OK," Raikkonen said. "The car is behaving well so a normal Friday.”
With Kvyat setting the pace, Raikkonen says he still expects Mercedes to be the team to beat throughout the weekend.
“I think it’s the normal Mercedes. Obviously Red Bull seems to be quite quick here but it’s only Friday so let’s wait and see tomorrow. Hopefully we have a good day tomorrow and go from there.”
And Raikkonen says Ferrari is not focusing on what any of the other teams are doing at this stage.
“No, we’re just doing our normal Friday so obviously tomorrow is another day and so far everything worked pretty OK. Obviously there’s always things to improve but it was more or less OK.”
