Following this morning's wet weather run, Haas' Romain Grosjean has offered his assessment on Pirelli's full wet and intermediate tyres.
The Frenchman, who ran a total of 49 laps before the mid-day lunch break, was satisfied with the Italian manufacturer's progress with its full wet compound, but was less impressed with its intermediate tyres.
"It is quite interesting the wet," said Grosjean.
"There is a lot of progress made from last year. We haven’t had too much overheating with the rear and the temperature is staying in. The warm up was okay-ish."
Criticism emerged following last year's rain soaked Brazilian Grand Prix in which many drivers felt that Pirelli's wet tyre did not perform at the expected level.
"The intermediates are really good for one lap," added the Haas driver.
"Then they get destroyed a bit too early – so some work is to be done. But generally it’s a good step from where we ended up last year."
