As the Scuderia's reserve driver, Antonio Giovinazzi is putting Ferrari at the top of his list of priorities for 2017.

The 23-year-old subbed for an injured Pascal Wehrlein at Sauber for the team's first week of pre-season testing, acquitting himself quite well behind the wheel of the team's new C36.

While Wehrlein will return to the cockpit tomorrow when testing resumes at the Circuit de Catalunya, Giovinazzi will remain on call in case any issues hit the German driver.

But the young Italian hopeful insists that his duties as a Ferrari driver will be given priority this season.

"I'm the third driver," he is quoted by Speed Week.

"I will follow the race weekends and then we'll see what's happening."

However, the 2016 GP2 runner-up admits that sitting on the sidelines in 2017 will take some adjusting to.

"It's going to be harder than before," he said. "To be in the paddock but with less adrenaline."
