Jenson Button's race tomorrow just got a whole lot more difficult with the McLaren driver demoted 15 spots on the grid following an engine component change.

Honda is implementing a fifth MGU-H on the McLaren, taking the subsequent grid penalty.

The 2009 world champion shall start his race tomorrow from last, setting back his hopes of a points-finish performance for his one-off return to F1.

McLaren team-mate Stoffel Vandoorne is also hit with a grid penalty following his on-track encounter with Felipe Massa in Barcelona.

The Belgian, who ended FP3 tenth, will start three spots behind his qualifying result despite his Honda power unit also receiving an internal combustion unit change as well as new MGU-K, MGU-H and turbocharger.

But the components are still within the authorized limits, so Vandoorne will incur no additional grid penalties.
