Mercedes boss Toto Wolff isn't discarding a return of reigning world champion Nico Rosberg to Grand Prix racing.
Rosberg's retreat from the sport after conquering the world title last year came as a shock to all, and especially to his Mercedes bosses Toto Wolff and Niki Lauda.
The Austrian F1 legend has played down the likelihood that Rosberg could return to racing but Wolff thinks there is a chance we haven't seen the last of the German in an F1 car.
"I'll let you know something," Wolff told Le Journal de Montreal.
"I would not be surprised to one day see Nico racing at Ferrari or someone else.
"He's only 31, he's still young. Perhaps he will change his mind. I don't know."
But Wolff said he doubts Rosberg will try to emulate Fernando Alonso's recent bid at Indy 500 victory.
"Knowing him, Nico will not try his luck there. It's a dangerous adventure," he said.
