Jos Verstappen has put to rest rumors that tensions are building between Red Bull Racing and his son Max Verstappen following the latter's latest retirement in Baku.
The 19-year-old has not enjoyed good reliability this year with the Milton Keynes-based outfit, forced out of both the Canadian and Azerbaijan races by engine issues.
Red Bull boss Christian Horner insisted however that Verstappen's woes were "through no fault of the team or the effort the team is putting in", a comment which Jos Verstappen answered with a foul-mouth response according to reports.
But the former Benetton and Arrows driver denies the allegation and insists everything is fine between his son and his team.
"Don't make your own stories. We are happy at Red Bull," Verstappen Snr said.
Following a aerodynamic break-through, Red Bull Racing has indeed now taken its performance to the next level, as Helmut Marko has noted.
"As far as the chassis is concerned, we are probably the strongest team," said the Austrian.
"But we still have to work on reliability and also the engine. We have had six failures this season, and I'm especially sorry for Max Verstappen," Marko added.
