Romain Grosjean was thoroughly satisfied with his Austrian Grand Prix performance, crossing the checkered flag P6, the best result for himself and Haas this year.
The result also brought the Haas F1 Team's championship points sum to 29, the exact total which the US outfit achieved in all of last season.
Grosjean ran as high as fourth in the early stages of the races but was always going to be hard pressed to keep Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Raikkonen behind.
"It's been a great race, and a fun few laps," enthused the Frenchman.
"It was like 2013 when I could play with the car at the front and manage to get some good positions
"Obviously there was no chance to keep Lewis and Kimi behind, but it was a great fight with Perez. He was pretty fast and we had to push all the time."
Beyond the positive result, Grosjean was encourages by the behaviour of the team's VF-17 chassis which, when settings are optimised, is obviously a force to be reckoned with in F1's tight mid-field battle.
"The car behaved well, there are a few things we need to improve but it shows that when we get the tyres to work, the right downforce level and the right drag level we are very competitive."
"It’s just the experience, because everything is a window, which we are missing a bit sometimes. But it’s only our 28th or 29th race.
"We should have an update for Silverstone, so that should be good fun."
