Sebastian Vettel's Ferrari SF70H enjoyed its first laps this morning with the new 'Shield' cockpit safety device mounted.
Development work is still ongoing on the concept which, we'll agree, looks a lot better than its Halo and Aeroscreen predecessors which were trialed last year.
Interestingly, Vettel reported his view was somewhat 'blurred' behind the shield, a problem which could also be linked to the fact that the device is temporarily mounted on the car and not part of its tub assembly.
In any case, further development work will be required before the 'Shield' is given the green light for next season as the FIA hopes will be the case.
