The all-important exercise of changing tyres with absolute precision was perfectly executed by Max Verstappen's Red Bull Racing crew in Japan.
The Milton Keynes outfit's men were done and dusted, and had Max out in 2.29 seconds, edging out Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton by 0.04s.
The Mercedes driver prevailed on the road however, winning the Japanese GP by a margin of 1.211s.
The record for the fastest pit stop is still held by Williams which achieved an outstanding 1.92s stop in Baku last year.
Mercedes leads the DHL Fastest Pit Stop championship however, in front of Williams and Red Bull.
